Dr Gino Yu,

Associate Professor and Head of MIC,
The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
PhD and BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science,
University of California, Berkeley

After receiving his PhD from UC Berkeley in 1993, Dr Gino Yu taught at the University of Southern California and was part of a team that developed the Integrated Media Systems Center, an NSF funded Center of Excellence. From 1996 to 1998 he taught at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where he established the Centre for Enhanced Learning and Teaching. His research interests are in multimedia applications, entertainment technology, computer-aided design, education technology, tools for game design and development, machine learning, interfaces, and impact of technology on society.

Multimedia Innovation Centre (MIC)
MIC was established in 1999. It offers a wide range of certified programs ranging from its flagship master degree (MSc in Multimedia & Entertainment Technology) to high diploma programmes on digital entertainment. It also develops and carries out research on digital entertainment technology.
